The Christmas tree sits on Place Stanislas in Nancy

The traditional Christmas tree for the end of the year was erected from 8:30 am this Thursday, November 4 at Place Stanislas in Nancy. About fifteen people took care of him to hoist him up.

A majestic conifer

This tree is imposing: 4.7 tons and 19 meters high.

He is also old: 39 years old. Cut in a family garden in Gérardmer, it arrived in the night by an exceptional convoy. This Thursday morning, the workers are busy. The objective: to cut its trunk to secure it in the nozzle.

The Christmas tree dazzles the people of Nancy

First fruits of the holidays and a sign that Saint-Nicolas is fast approaching, the Christmas tree amazes young and old alike. The mayor of Nancy welcomes the installation of the tree with joy. It comes at the right time: the ephemeral garden is withdrawing and the king’s statue will soon be restored.

The Christmas tree is also a family affair. Children are in awe of the size of this tree. Planted in 1986 by a family from Gérôme, this tree touches Sylvie, who saw it grow during her childhood. Shared between “joy” and “emotion“, she is happy to see this tree springing up.

Still quite naked, the Christmas tree will now be decorated. This year, it will be the colors red and gold that will dress the tree. It will be illuminated on November 19 at 8 p.m., date of the kickoff of the festivities of Saint-Nicolas.
