“I have no recollection of there being the slightest absence, anything that would be notable. Not at all. Really not,” declared on franceinfo Tuesday January 16, Isabelle Broué, mother of two children educated at the Littré school in the 6th arrondissement in Paris.
She was an FCPE delegate from 2008 to 2020 and, for her, no problem of“repeated absences of teachers” at the time. This is how the Minister of National Education, Youth, Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games justified the private schooling of her children.
“Aberrant”
In 2009, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra briefly educated one of her sons in the public sector, in a small nursery section, before changing schools during the school year to place him permanently in the private sector. “In any case, if this were to happen, in this case, there was obviously a replacement and in the case where for a morning, it was not possible to have one, the principal would welcome the students,” adds Isabelle Broué. “And if there were still no replacements in the afternoon, the children were distributed from one class to another.”
According to her, “At no time as a parent do I remember being asked not to send our children to school! It’s just absurd to present it like that, it’s not possible. The children were welcomed no matter what. I don’t remember any absenteeism. Not at all”she insists.
To try to put an end to this controversy, the minister had an exchange on Monday evening “consensual and peaceful” with the former teacher of her eldest son, who studied briefly at the Littré school, learned about franceinfo from the minister’s entourage. Amélie Oudéa-Castéra will go to this establishment on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. to talk with the teachers.
