Sunday May 15, 2022, Louane confided in our colleagues from TF1 in the magazine “Sept à deux”. On this occasion, the musician, now 26 years old, returned to the terrible tragedy she endured when she was only a young teenager. Her father, Jean-Pierre Peichert, died while she was taking her first steps in “The Voice”. He died of cancer at the age of 59. A few months later, the budding singer lost her mom. Two traumas which of course had certain consequences for the one who in turn became the mother of a little girl.
“I think I was very, very well surrounded. And then I really locked myself in the work”, she explained before telling: “I needed to do something else. And I definitely think that being able to focus on the album, go on tour quickly, I think that really saved me. It delayed things a bit in terms of grieving obviously, and I think I broke out a little later. But in the moment, it gave me strength, it held me in place and it allowed me to move forward. I also think that thanks to that, even if I took a long time to mourn, it was so much sweeter“

If Louane leads her life as an artist brilliantly without the presence of her parents, she cannot help thinking of them when she raises her daughter Esmée.
