In a context of energy sobriety, some families try the experience of living without oil for a month.

It is a particular challenge that launched some families go without kerosene for a month. Thus, they must find food within a radius of less than 200 kilometers. It is therefore a locavore experience, consisting in finding food on a very local scale. “We are not going to eat everything we usually eat. There are necessarily things that we will have to do without, but we can find plenty of things for less than 200 kilometers”, describes Laure, group purchasing manager.

Although these families will not be able to eat everything they want, it is possible to find many foods from the local scale. Within a radius of less than 200 kilometers, the group was able to find flour, pasta or even rice. “We made ourselves a challenge for fun too, it’s to get the rice by bike, so the rice is not in India or Pakistan, we went to the Camargue”says Laura. Spices or local melons are part of this locavore diet. The group still regrets not being able to drink coffee after meals.
