It’s not just Ramsay who will land in Montreal. The Canadiens also made Maxime Gauthier the new head therapist.
The arrival of Ramsay and Gauthier will serve to make up for the departures of Donald Balmforth and Graham Rynbend, fired due to numerous injuries to the team over the past two years. The CH has led the NHL in the column of missed games for its players for the past two seasons, with more than 600 games in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.
The end of a long chapter
Ramsay has an impressive track record. He worked for the Rangers, the Winnipeg Jets, but also on the international scene with the Canadian team.
The 58-year-old was part of the Rangers organization for 28 years. Originally from Toronto, Ramsay also worked in the Jets organization before leaving for Manhattan. With Team Canada, he participated in the 2002, 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games.
In Gauthier’s case, he had been working as a physiotherapist in the private sector since 2000. He worked with many athletes as a specialist and independent consultant in sports medicine, including several NHL players. He is from Chicoutimi.
