The Automobile Club de l’Ouest wanted to mark the occasion for the next edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans, in June 2023. To celebrate the centenary of the mythical race, a trophy has been specially produced by Monnaie de Paris, the institution that manufactures euro coins. It is notably engraved with the names of former winners of the double clock tower.
The bronze coin one meter fifty was presented this weekend on social networks and at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in the United States. A bit like an Olympic flame, he will then do several stages in automobile events and in particular at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, one of the rounds of the endurance championship.
