According to information revealed by Disclose on Wednesday June 15, breaches relating to hygiene had been reported several years ago in the Buitoni factory in Caudry (North), which manufactured Fraich’Up pizzas.

For how many years has the Buitoni factory in Caudry (Nord) accumulated shortcomings? According to investigative media Disclose, reports from 2012 to 2020 reveal recurring hygiene issues. Published by the survey site, the most recent is the most detailed. The inspector describes a “ceiling […] messy”and finds “brown stains”of the “Spider webs”or places “dusty”. He goes on to note that “the material is greasy and oily” and that “traces of mold” have been spotted.

The document is accompanied by dozens of photos supposed to prove these breaches of health rules. In another report, ten years ago, Fraud Control already noted an anomaly, including “son of moth”, parasitic insects, on production lines. According to Disclose, Nestlé would have received a warning. However, in a communication video published on May 30, this is what Jérôme Jaton, a director of Nestlé, answered when asked if there have already been alerts on this factory: “Never. There is a message that I would like you to take away, it is that our priority is our consumers, and once again, [nous sommes] wholeheartedly with these families affected by these poisoning rates.”
