The castles of the Loire and Sleeping Beauty

In her walk of the day, Géraldine takes you to the Château du Clos Lucéthe castle ofAmboise or Moulinsart. But it’s in Ussé that we’re going to stop for a moment…

Known as Sleeping Beauty’s castleit was this fortress that Charles Perrault had in mind when he was writing the fairy tale. A magical-looking monument, overlooking the Indre and the Loire with the Salle des gardes or its entrance with a drawbridge! There is a incredible trompe l’oeil ceiling, which perfectly imitates marble. The oldest room in the castle is the vaulted room and the staircase marks the starting point of a underground over 1000 years old.

In honor ofDawn, Sleeping Beauty, rooms in the Château d’Ussé have been specially decorated! We see her baptism, the nice fairies, Maleficent, the cursed spinning wheel and of course: prince charming !
