The Carabins win largely against the Vert & Or

After a close start to the match, the Carabins of the University of Montreal largely won against the Vert & Or of the University of Sherbrooke by a score of 59 to 13, Saturday, at CEPSUM.

Sherbrooke took a 10-8 lead after a touchdown from receiver Marc-André Shaw in the second quarter. The Vert & Or then added three points thanks to a Louis Tardif field goal.

Carabins quarterback Jonathan Senecal was brilliant in his team’s victory. He completed 18 of 28 passes for 324 yards. The latter himself scored his team’s first touchdown, and added another in the second quarter.

The Carabins defense was also in good shape with three sacks.

During the fourth quarter, Montreal defensive back Mathis Bérubé scored with a defensive touchdown to allow his club to take a 56-13 lead.

The Vert & Or have still not won a single match this season, the team posting a record of four defeats in as many games. The Carabins remain perfect with four wins in four games.

The two teams will cross swords again next week, this time in Sherbrooke.
