Already present on the web, in the print media and on the radio, Le Car Guide now has its own TV show on the TVA channel every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m.
On the occasion of the broadcast of the first episode, Antoine Joubert and Germain Goyer devoted an entire segment on QUB Radio to the presentation of this new weekly program.
A new collaborator
For this big return to TV, The Car Guide calls on two of its most seasoned columnists. Antoine Joubert and Gabriel Gélinas will share test drives throughout the season, sometimes solo and sometimes as a duo. The first episode of the season, broadcast last Saturday, featured the two experts at the wheel of the 2022 Volkswagen Golf R.
Added to this duo of experts is Mathieu Roy, a well-known techno columnist who works in particular at Hi hello. This is a first partnership with The Guide to Autho for Mathieu, a natural association considering the importance of technology in modern vehicles.
“Technology and automotive are becoming more and more mixed. Sometimes Mathieu will analyze the technological ergonomics and the technological components of a vehicle. It will also discuss autonomous driving, augmented reality, 3D printing and video games on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Gran Turismo,” says Antoine Joubert.
A different formula
Car enthusiasts will remember that The Car Guide has already had its place on the small screen on the VOX channel, which has become MaTV. For this new version, the formula adopted is quite different. If in the past the heart of the show took place in the studio around a large table, the concept is different this time.
“Almost everything happens outside with the reporting formula,” says Antoine Joubert. Aside from the techno segments, the Guide’s columnists are actually on the ground to make content more dynamic. Some road tests are carried out here in Quebec, while others take place outside the country. This will notably be the case during the second episode of the season, where Gabriel Gélinas will test the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS on the Willow Springs circuit in California.
Strong presence of green vehicles
More and more, the diversity of electric vehicles tends to grow and this reality will be represented in this new show.
“In each of the programs, we will deal with electric vehicles. Let’s start with the presentation of the Nissan Ariya, a highly anticipated vehicle that is likely to be very successful with us. “, relates Mr. Joubert. Moreover, Antoine Joubert also mentioned that two thirds of road tests are carried out with electric vehicles.
The TVA Car Guide program is broadcast every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. It’s a date!
