The Caquiste deputy Youri Chassin renews his allegiance to the party of François Legault, but admits to being disappointed not to be in the Cabinet.

The Caquiste deputy Youri Chassin has put an end to the doubts he has left hanging since the last Council of Ministers by renewing his allegiance to the government of François Legault.

In a message on social networks, Mr. Chassin welcomed the appointment of his colleagues to ministerial functions, during a ceremony Thursday which he had not attended.

Questioned on Monday by The dutyMr. Chassin had refused to dispel rumors to the effect that his disappointment at not being a minister could incite him to defect.

Wednesday, a few minutes before a press briefing by Mr. Legault, Mr. Chassin wanted to dispel any ambiguity about his allegiance to the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ).

“The CAQ has received a strong mandate to continue to move Quebec forward,” he wrote. I am proud to be part of this team and, like all CAQ MNAs, I want to contribute to it to the best of my abilities. »

Mr. Chassin explained that he felt the need to take a step back to put things in perspective in order to undertake the next mandate “with vigor and good humor”.

“Backed by a first term where I had the opportunity to contribute in a tangible way to regulatory relief, I will not hide my disappointment at not having been called up,” he said, referring to the composition of the Council of Ministers.
