“It is unfortunately the stink balls of the end of the campaign”denounced Tuesday, February 22 on France Inter the candidate Les Républicains in the presidential election Valérie Pécresse, after accusations of illegal taking of interests by elected environmentalists in the Ile-de-France region.

They accuse her, on the basis of information revealed by the online media Blast, of having held stock options with her husband at Alstom. Candidate LR would have made these actions invisible so that they no longer appear on her declaration of interests. However, her husband, Jérôme Pécresse worked at Alstom until the takeover of the group’s energy activities by General Electric in early November 2015, a month before the election of his wife as head of the Île-de-France region. Since then, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) has ordered nearly 3.7 billion euros worth of rolling stock from Alstom, following several contracts.

“I am filing a complaint for slanderous denunciation against these green elected officials”says Valérie Pécresse, explaining that it is “of the situation in 2016 when I was elected from the Île-de-France region” and she put “compliance” all his interests. “There has never been any conflict of interest between me and Alstom”assures the candidate who denounces “unworthy methods”. The candidate’s entourage is surprised by the timing of her revelations, a few weeks before the presidential election.
