In part, answered Wednesday at a press conference the author of the popular fictions Rumors, bad karma and Let go. But rather than representing the New Democratic Party, Alix will wear the colors of the Parti Progrès et Démocratie du Québec.

A single mother and nail technician, the proverbial post candidate who will be played by actress Catherine Chabot (The perfect family guide, Vanishing lines) leads a directionless existence, until his astonishing election, made possible by a scandal and a wave of discontent with the ruling party. The following months will be generous in terms of learning.

Led by director Sébastien Gagné (The cottage, Let go, Sleepless night), the filming of The candidate will begin on October 24. Its ten sixty-minute episodes will be available in 2023 on ICI TOU.TV Extra. Christian Bégin, Éric Bernier, Geneviève Brouillette, Inès Talbi, Isabelle Vincent, Maka Kotto and Mireille Métellus are among its vast cast.
