The Canadiens head coach, Martin St-Louis, will be absent for family reasons

The Montreal Canadiens announced Saturday that head coach Martin St-Louis will have to be absent for an indefinite period for family reasons.

In his absence, assistant coach Trevor Letowski will lead the Habs.

The Montreal team faces the Flames in Calgary on Saturday evening in the first game of a five-game series in the West of the continent.

During Saturday’s media availability, it was assistant coach Stéphane Robidas who spoke to journalists.

The Canadian is coming back from a 2-1 overtime loss suffered at the hands of the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. He has a record of 25-30-11 and is seventh and penultimate in the Atlantic Division, one point ahead of the Ottawa Senators.

St-Louis is currently in the second year of a three-year contract he signed on 1er June 2022.
