The game was played behind closed doors, a decision announced some two hours before the start of the meeting.

Artturi Lehkonen and Laurent Dauphin scored for the Canadian during the regulation 65 minutes. For Dauphin, it was a first goal in the NHL since December 10… 2016!

Max Willman and Jackson Cates fought back for the Flyers for the said 65 minutes. It was a first National League goal for Cates, in his fifth game. His teammate Willlman can still look down on him as he totals twice the goals in the circuit.

In a duel of young guards, the masked men were busy. Cayden Primeau repelled 35 shots, while Carter Hart made 38 saves.

In shootout, Primeau added saves at the expense of Sean Couturier, Claude Giroux and Cam Atkinson. The latter ended his attempt by colliding with Primeau, who was shaken.

The Canadiens play their next game on Saturday against the Boston Bruins. It is still unknown at the time of publication whether spectators will be admitted to the Bell Center.
