The Canadian | Suzuki and Caufield are October’s MVPs

Forwards Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki are co-recipients of the Molson Cup for the October segment, the Montreal Canadiens announced in a press release Friday morning.

Caufield was named the first star of the game on one occasion (October 12 against the Toronto Maple Leafs) and second star on another occasion (October 29 against the St. Louis Blues).

Along with leading the team with seven goals (tied for fourth in the NHL), the 21-year-old winger added three assists, totaling 10 points in nine games in October. In particular, he had two three-game streaks with at least one point (October 15 to 20 and October 25 to 29).

For his part, Suzuki was named the second star of the game on two occasions (October 12 against the Leafs and October 20 against the Arizona Coyotes) and the third star on one occasion (October 15 against the Capitals in Washington).

The 23-year-old centerman led the team with six assists and added four goals to his tally for 10 points. The captain of the Habs notably had a streak of four games with at least one point (October 15 to 22), in addition to collecting his 100e career assist on October 29 in St-Louis.

A presentation honoring the Molson Cup winners for October will take place prior to Saturday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights at the Bell Centre.
