The Montreal Canadiens have signed a two-year contract with an average annual value of US$1.1 million (CA$1.457 million) to forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard.
The Arvida native was a restricted free agent.
Harvey-Pinard, 24, exploded onto the NHL scene last winter scoring 14 goals and six assists in 34 games with the Habs.
He notably scored a hat trick on March 25 in an 8-2 victory for the Canadiens against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After his recall to the NHL on Jan. 17, he not only led league rookies in goals scored, but also led freshman forwards in blocked shots with 56.
Harvey-Pinard also provided 16 goals and 15 assists in 40 games with the Laval Rocket last winter.
The Canadiens selected Harvey-Pinard in the seventh round, 201st overall, in the 2019 NHL Draft.
