The Montreal Canadiens acquired forward Denis Gurianov from the Dallas Stars on Sunday in exchange for Evgenii Dadonov.
The Canadiens will withhold 50% of Dadonov’s salary by the end of the current season.
A six-foot-three, 205-pound right winger, Gurianov has two goals and nine points this season in 43 appearances.
Drafted 12e by the Stars in 2015, Gurianov has 46 NHL goals and 103 points in 257 games.
The 25-year-old Russian had a 20-goal season in 2019-20 with Dallas.
Dadonov has appeared in 50 games with the Canadiens this season, registering four goals and 18 points.
The Habs will begin a four-game stint in the West on Tuesday in San Jose.
