The Canadian | Mattias Norlinder sold to Laval

The Montreal Canadiens demoted defenseman Mattias Norlinder in the American Hockey League by loaning him to the Laval Rocket.

The team announced the news Tuesday morning, in addition to indicating that Corey Schueneman was recalled to the NHL.

Norlinder plays his first campaign in North America. The 21-year-old Swede made only six appearances for the Canadiens this fall and amassed one assist. He has a +2 rating and his average playing time is 12:18.

The Habs had also ceded Norlinder to the Rocket earlier this season, via a loan for fitness purposes. Norlinder had then played three games with the troops of Jean-François Houle, but had not blackened the scoresheet.

For his part, Schueneman has yet to play in the NHL. The 26-year-old American has made 18 appearances for the Rocket this season and has two goals and five assists.
