The Quebec forward, out of action since Dec. 14, hasn’t played in the team’s last 22 games due to what is rumored to be a back problem.

The 2021-22 season will therefore have been very difficult for him; in November, he had to miss 15 games due to a retinal detachment in his eye. So far, in just 14 games, he has scored three goals and added one assist. All three of his goals came in the same game, Oct. 23 at the Bell Center against the Detroit Red Wings.

This may not be the only change to the Canadiens roster, as Martin St-Louis confirmed Saturday in Ottawa that the club will begin the warm-up period Saturday night with a total of seven defenders. The coach will then make his choice, probably between Kale Clague and Corey Schueneman, for this confrontation against the Senators. Josh Anderson, injured in a headshot earlier this week at the Bell Centre, will play in the game, but not Paul Byron, also injured in the same game, Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabers.

The Canadian will try Saturday night to collect a fifth victory in a row, this time with Andrew Hammond in net.

“I focus on my team, that’s what we do, explained Martin St-Louis on Saturday morning. We don’t change our strategy game after game, we focus on our game. The Senators have talented young players, and we’re going to do what we do, and we’re going to play 200 feet. »

For the Senators, Matt Murray will be in net, while forward Colin White will play his first game this season.
