The Montreal Canadiens announced this Tuesday afternoon that they had sold defender Logan Mailloux to the Laval Rocket. The 20-year-old defenseman will join the American League team on Wednesday.
Habs first round pick in 2021 (31e in total), Mailloux is preparing to make his debut in the professional ranks.
At his first training camp with CH, he stood out for his obvious offensive qualities, which will however have to be accompanied by increased defensive responsibility in the future.
In three preseason games, he did not accumulate a point, nevertheless spending an average of 20 minutes on the ice per game, proof that the organization wanted to give him the chance to showcase himself.
Following the departure of Mailloux for Laval, the Canadian now has nine healthy defensemen in his lineup. At least one of them will be removed by next week.
