Defenseman Jeff Petry will miss Saturday’s game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Nashville Predators with an upper-body injury.
The team announced the news on Friday morning, before heading to Nashville.
In 25 games this season, Petry has been limited to two assists. It has a differential of -4.
Defenseman Corey Schueneman has been recalled from the Laval Rocket and will be on the trip. Schueneman has two goals and five assists in 18 games with the Rocket in the American Hockey League this season.
The Brighton, Mich. Native has yet to play in the NHL. Schueneman was never drafted. He is 26 years old.
In addition, the striker Tyler Toffoli did not participate in the training of the Canadian Friday. He was enjoying a day of treatment.
For his part, forward Mike Hoffman was back with the regular squad after treating an upper body injury. Hoffman has scored four goals and three assists in 13 games for the Habs this season.
Forward Laurent Dauphin was also in training, after being called up late Thursday night to replace Josh Anderson. The latter fell in action in the Canadiens’ 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Dauphin has 11 goals and five assists in 18 games with the Rocket this season.
