The Canadiens are preparing to make some big changes within their organization, and those changes could include Jeff Gorton.
At least that’s what TSN reported on Sunday morning.
Gorton, 53, would be approached to join the management of the Canadiens, as head of the hockey operations department.
This would be an important change of course for the Canadian, since it is the owner Geoff Molson who has so far assumed the presidency of the Montreal club.
Gorton was best known as general manager of the New York Rangers from 2015 to 2021. Under his watch, the Rangers missed the playoffs three times in six seasons.
The arrival of Gorton could also mean the imminent hiring of a new general manager at the Bell Center, since a divorce between Marc Bergevin and the Canadian seems more and more inevitable.
