The goaltender injured his “lower body” on January 12 during a duel against the Boston Bruins. His rehabilitation therefore lasted nine weeks.
He’s been training hard with the team for a few days now, and his name will be taken off the injured list on Thursday morning. He is “95% certain” that he will face the Stars, said head coach Martin St-Louis.
Allen, unsurprisingly, was relieved to finally get the green light after having to undergo the longest rehabilitation of his career.
“It was hard not to be there when the wind changed” for the team, he told reporters, referring to the recent successes of CH under the orders of St-Louis.
“My rehabilitation went well; It started slowly, but we made good progress. The medical staff did a great job. »
While the Canadian still has 22 games to play, Allen wants to finish the season “strong”, he who has experienced all kinds of misadventures since the start of the calendar. In addition to this injury which has just healed, he suffered a concussion in December and contracted COVID-19 during the holidays.
“Like the rest of the team, I want to end the year on the right foot in order to build on the positive and come back to training camp in the same state of mind,” he also said.
