The other 31 teams have until 2 p.m. Monday to claim them. If ignored, the Habs will trade them to the Laval Rocket.

NHL teams have until 5 p.m. Monday to submit their final roster, which can contain a maximum of 23 players. If they intend to assign players to the American League who must first go through waivers, they should therefore submit them to it on Sunday.

Bowey was expected in Laval this season, he who has played only four games in the NHL over the past two seasons. On the other hand, Schueneman had made a place for himself in Montreal at the end of last season, and played 24 games with the big club.

In four preseason games, the 27-year-old Schueneman had one assist and posted a -2 rating.

The Canadian has training off on Sunday, and will return to work on Monday, with a view to its inaugural game on Wednesday. Team general manager Kent Hughes will meet the media Monday noon for an update on his roster.
