The Canadian | Cayden Primeau wins the Molson Cup

(Montreal) Montreal Canadiens goalie Cayden Primeau won the Molson Cup for the month of March, the organization announced in a press release Monday morning.


Primeau was named the first star of a game twice (March 12 against the Columbus Blue Jackets and the 28th against the Philadelphia Flyers) as well as the third star on one occasion (March 24 against the Kraken in Seattle ).

In five games in March, the 24-year-old goalie posted a 3-1-1 record while maintaining a 1.97 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage. Primeau also signed his second shutout in the NHL, on March 12 against the Blue Jackets.

A presentation honoring Primeau will take place before Tuesday night’s game against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre.

Until then, Primeau and his Canadiens teammates will participate in a training session on the Bell Center ice rink this morning, after undergoing the traditional team photo.
