No explanation was given for Primeau’s recall. With his recall, the Habs have three goalkeepers in their workforce.

Primeau is 8-6-3 at Laval this season, averaging 2.77 and .912 efficiency. The 22-year-old also played two games with CH, losing 3-2 to the Rangers and 6-0 to the Penguins.

The Habs face the Flyers Thursday night at the Bell Center. The team is scheduled to hold an optional exercise Thursday morning. Ahead of the main session, forward Brendan Gallagher and defender Sami Niku, who have just come out of isolation after contracting COVID-19, practiced on the ice with Carey Price, who is continuing his rehabilitation.

Norlinder comes home

Meanwhile, the Canadian has announced that defender Mattias Norlinder will continue his season at home in Sweden. He will line up for Frölunda, in the Swedish first division.

“At the end of discussions between the organization, Mattias and his agent, it was agreed that the best option for his development was to return to Frölunda for the moment,” wrote the Habs in a statement.

Choice of 3e tower (64e overall) from Montreal in 2019, Norlinder had one assist in six NHL games this season. He played the same number of games at Laval, where he scored a goal and an assist.

So we come back to the scenario that Norlinder envisioned last June, when he signed his first contract with the Habs. “We don’t yet know what will happen. I will be training here in Gothenburg this summer. We will then see what they say at the camp, if I return to Sweden or if I stay in Montreal. But I will probably play in Sweden, ”he told Press.

However, the situation quickly changed for the Canadian at the blue line in the meantime. Shea Weber will obviously not be playing anymore, while Joel Edmundson was injured early in camp and still hasn’t played a game. For his part, Norlinder was injured in the middle of training camp and was able to continue his hearing when he recovered.
