Thus, the Montreal club confirmed Wednesday morning the return of forwards Alex Belzile, Joël Teasdale and Nate Schnarr, who all obtain a new contract for a two-year season for 2022-23.
All three players were playmakers in the spring of 2022 with the Rocket, allowing the Laval club to go to a single victory of the final.
Belzile, 30, had 10 goals and 12 assists in 32 games with the Rocket this season, but it was mostly his five goals (and four assists) in 15 playoff games that caught the eye.
Teasdale, 23, had 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in 44 games with the Laval Rocket last season, while adding a goal and an assist in 15 playoff games.
As for Schnarr, also 23, it was his tally of 17 goals and 19 assists in 63 games (with the Laval Rocket and the Utica Comets) that obviously convinced Montreal management to bring him back to Place Bell. He also added two goals and two assists in 11 playoff games.
