The Canadian’s injury list continues to grow. This time, it’s Alex Newhook who falls in combat for a prolonged period.
The CH announced on Saturday that its striker will be absent for a period of 10 to 12 weeks due to a sprained ankle.
Newhook, 22, was injured Thursday during the Habs’ 5-1 loss to the Florida Panthers. He fell while charging the opponent’s goal and his left leg got stuck in the net. He needed help to leave the ice.
In 23 games this season, Newhook has scored seven goals and six assists.
The Canadian acquired his services from the Colorado Avalanche in June.
The Newfoundland and Labrador native is completing the first season of a four-year contract earning him an average annual salary of US$2.9 million.
