The Canadian adds five players to his COVID list

The Montreal Canadiens added the names of goaltender Jake Allen and defensemen Ben Chiarot, Jeff Petry, Joel Edmundson and Chris Wideman to the NHL’s COVID-19 roster on Monday.

Goalkeeper coach Éric Raymond also submits to the circuit protocol in connection with COVID-19.

Their names are added to those of forwards Laurent Dauphin, Mike Hoffman, Artturi Lehkonen and Tyler Toffoli, who were already in the protocol.

As a result, goaltender Cayden Primeau and defenseman Corey Schueneman were recalled from the Laval Rocket. Forwards Brandon Baddock and Cam Hillis, defenseman Gianni Fairbrother and goaltender Michael McNiven have been added to the reserve squad and will accompany the team to Florida.

The Canadian has an appointment with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night.

It will be his first game since Dec. 16, when he defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in a shootout. His next four games were postponed due to COVID-19 outbreaks across the NHL.
