A new forest fire is underway this Friday August 12 in the Landes. At least 40 hectares of forest burned in Sore, at 9:15 p.m., according to the firefighters who went there in large numbers. At the origin of this fire: a vehicle which, by tipping into a ditch, caught fire. The fire then spread to the forest, burning hectares of pines at a blazing speed.
According to an elected official from the town of Trensacq, contacted by France Bleu Gascogne at 9:50 p.m., the fire is now heading towards Luxey. The fire command post was installed in Sore.
As a result of this fire, the departmental 45 between Sore and Trensacq was closed to traffic.
