The Bruins beaten 5-2 by the Maple Leafs

(Toronto) Auston Matthews and John Tavares both scored twice and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Boston Bruins 5-2 on Saturday night.

Mitch Marner completed the scoring in an empty net and added three assists for the Maple Leafs, who posted a fifth straight win.

Morgan Rielly was the accomplice of two goals for the Torontonians and Tavares also amassed an assist. Jack Campbell made his mark by repelling 42 pucks.

Taylor Hall and David Pastrnak provided the answer for the Bruins as Brad Marchand prepared for his troop’s two successes.

Linus Ullmark blocked 31 of 35 shots aimed at him in a losing cause.

The Maple Leafs and Bruins haven’t crossed swords since November 15, 2019, 720 days ago. The Boston team then triumphed 4-2, in the last days of the Mike Babcock era in Toronto.
