A meeting to try to break the deadlock concerning the migration crisis takes place, Sunday, November 28, in Calais (Pas-de-Calais). While the standoff continues between France and the United Kingdom, the latter are not invited.

Preventing men and women from crossing the Channel to reach England, that is the ambition of the meeting on Sunday November 28 which will take place in Calais (Pas-de-Calais). Several ministers from different European countries will meet to discuss the migration crisis, but Priti Patel, British Home Secretary, has not been invited since the statement by Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister. The latter asked France to resume “all his refugees”.

“The British position alone is not acceptable. If they remain in that position, it was not necessary for it to be present in Calais”, says Patrick Martin-Grenier, specialist in European affairs. France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands will discuss with the European Union. “Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium could better control the borders, to better control migratory flows”, adds Patrick Martin-Grenier.
