Head to Corsica to discover the Sanguinaires Islands. These four islets, located at the entrance to the Gulf of Ajaccio, offer simply indescribable sunsets. Locals, tourists and photographers never tire of them.
It may only be a legend, but in Corsica, it is said that this sunset gave its name to the Sanguinaires Islands. Glowing red hues, a sky as if on fire in the evening, make it one of the most popular landscapes on the island. About ten companies offer a sea excursion from the port of Ajaccio (South Corsica). One of them sells tickets for 63 euros per person. The closer the ship gets to the archipelago, the more the sun sets the sea ablaze. These 30 minutes of magic do not leave you indifferent. Once night falls, the evening continues with Corsican songs and a tasting of local products.
The beauty of the sunset does not only attract tourists. The island’s natives are also willing to spend money, like a student who paid 200 euros for a photo shoot. The photographer regularly offers this playground to his clients. Behind the lens, he plays with the lights, but the minutes are counted. When the sun goes behind the horizon, you have to stop.
