Challenging climbs over some 70 kilometers. This is what awaits the runners, Wednesday, July 20, for this 17th stage of the Tour de France, the second in the Pyrenees. The peloton set off from Saint-Gaudens towards Peyragudes, at an altitude of 1,580 metres. Enter here Haute-Garonne and the Hautes-Pyrénées, this mountain stage should delight climbers. Passed to second position in the intermediate sprint, Wout van Aert, secured winning the points classification.
After a rather flat first half, the riders will enter the hell of the passes, including three first category, under the sun, even if the heat should be less intense than the previous days. The final climb is eagerly awaited with a last kilometer in the Peyragudes altiport and its 13% average.
