A possible place in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup is at stake. Samoa and Japan face each other on Thursday September 28 at the Toulouse Stadium at 9 p.m. Beaten by the leader of Group D, England, during the last match (34-12), the Japanese have five points, thanks to their success against Chile (42-12) on the first day. The same total as Samoa, also victorious against Chile (43-10), then defeated by Argentina (19-10).
Pool D is very open and can still hold surprises. Japan will play their final match against Argentina on Sunday October 8, while Samoa will face England on Saturday October 7. There is also third place in the group to be secured, synonymous with qualification for the next World Cup in four years, in Australia.
