With prices rising on Monday, May 30, consumers pay attention to promotions in supermarkets. “I look at the promos, as everything has increased. Here we are, we try to do as we can”, says a customer. Since inflation, consumers favor products on sale. Retailers are trying to provide answers by stepping up their promotional campaigns.
“All the brands, today, are indeed trying to have an interesting share of voice on price and promotion because they all know that this is what will move market share”, explains Laurent Landel, specialist in promotional strategies at Bonial France. Promotions are more numerous on everyday products, such as food or fuel. Three out of four consumers could change their habits thanks to these promotions.
