The Bouches-du-Rhône department made a donation of 100,000 euros to the French Red Cross on Tuesday March 1 to help victims of the war in Ukraine, reports France Bleu Provence on Tuesday evening. This support will be provided in the form of a Humanitarian Aid grant.

Maxime Méry, the head of engagement at the French Red Cross, specifies that the NGO intervenes “with the Ukrainian Red Cross” on basic necessities, for “provide water, electricity and participate in the accommodation of the populations welcomed at the Ukrainian border”. IThe NGO is also appealing for donations from individuals via its site.

At the same time, the department organizes a collection of basic necessities, such as non-perishable foodstuffs. They will be sorted before being handed over to the Red Cross.
