The president of the National Hunters’ Federation, Willy Schraen, will be head of the “Rural Alliance” list in the next European elections. If it tries to appeal to hunters, this list aims much broader.
The deer hunt has just started in the forest of Juranville (Loiret), on the morning of Saturday December 2. It is an ancestral practice, which does not have a good reputation. The feeling of being unloved dominates among many of the hunters.
The RN popular with some hunters
Some hunters do not hide their sympathy for the National Rally (RN). “Town halls are obliged to take over all public services and this is why people vote in favor of the RN”explains Michel Masson, mayor of Beaune-la-Rolande (Loiret) and also president of the local hunting society.
The Rural Alliance is also trying to appeal to this audience. The list is much broader than just hunters for the next European elections, but it will be led by Willy Schraen, president of the National Hunters’ Federation. In 2022, he called to vote for Emmanuel Macron. The RN only sees it as a political operation which would be managed covertly by the Élysée.
