A man is wanted in the Avesnois, suspected of having stolen more than 3000 euro in cash at the motocross of the ramparts of Quesnoy, Sunday May 1st. A complaint was filed on Monday, May 2.
It was around 5 p.m. Sunday when a man attacked a member of the motocross organization. After jostling and pushing her, he snatches from her hands a box containing 36 cash envelopes, nearly 3200 euros in total, says the organizer Arnault Traisnel. The man then fled by car with one of his accomplices.
A member of the organization raised the plate of the car, and Arnault Traisnel filed a complaint with the gendarmerie.
This money, which represents a quarter of the entrance receipts, was to be used to pay the best pilots and organizational costs. After two years of cancellation, this represents a big hole in the account book of Arnault Traisnel, who also suffered a double penalty since he had to pay the pilots despite the flight. He does not exclude asking for help from the municipality or the federation.
The motocross enthusiast launches a call for vigilance to all associations that organize public events. “Many associations have in these events hundreds of euros in cash, poorly monitored and protected. It’s a warning that needs attention.“, he concludes.
