The bonus for buying a bike will increase, especially for disabled and precarious people

State aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle will be raised on Monday, with additional amounts for people with disabilities or low incomes, according to a decree published in the Official Journal, Saturday August 13. The maximum bonus for the purchase of an electric bicycle will increase from 200 to 300 euros and will no longer be conditional on the payment of aid from a local authority. It remains reserved for people whose tax income per unit is less than 13,489 euros.

For people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per share is less than or equal to 6,300 euros, the aid may go up to 400 euros. The latter will also be entitled to higher aid to buy a cargo bike, a folding bike or an electric bike trailer: with a maximum bonus rising to 2,000 euros, against 1,000 euros for the other beneficiaries of aid. For all other types of bike, they will be entitled to aid equivalent to 40% of the purchase price, up to 150 euros.

Finally, for people with disabilities or low incomes who wish to get rid of a polluting vehicle to buy an electric bicycle, the maximum amount of the conversion bonus is increased to 3,000 euros, compared to 1,500 euros for other aid recipients. The conversion bonus will also be accessible to several members of the same tax household from January 1, 2023.
