The body of a 42-year-old woman discovered in a dwelling on Boulevard Lacordaire

An investigation was opened by the police after the body of a 42-year-old woman was found in an apartment in Montreal North on Friday morning.

His body bore marks of violence, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), “which suggests a suspicious death”.

Without news of his friend, a man went to the woman, on the boulevard Lacordaire, to hear from her. It was he who discovered the body and called 911 around 9:30 a.m., said agent Brabant.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

SPVM investigators went on site Friday morning to analyze the scene, gather information from the neighborhood and try to see if surveillance cameras could have captured images useful to the investigation.

The SPVM does not close the door to the possibility of a spousal murder, but could not confirm for the moment if the woman was in a relationship. Investigators spoke with the victim’s friend to try to find out more.
