the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office opens an investigation after the violence during the meeting of Eric Zemmour

The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office announces, this Monday, December 6, the opening of an investigation into “the acts of violence committed inside the meeting” of the far-right polemicist Éric Zemmour, Sunday, at the Villepinte Exhibition Center (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The investigations, entrusted to the Departmental Security, relate in particular to violence against SOS Racism activists present at the first public meeting of the presidential campaign of Zemmour and on the contention of the candidate by an individual before his entry on the scene. The man was immediately exfiltrated and then arrested by the police. He is still in custody on Monday.

Eric Zemmour’s entourage indicated that the latter suffered from a wrist injury and that he was prescribed nine days of temporary work interruption (ITT). The far-right candidate files a complaint for “violence aggravated with premeditation” and “ambush”.

Violence also erupted at the start of the candidate’s speech when a dozen SOS Racism activists present in the audience unveiled T-shirts forming the slogan. “no to racism”. They were beaten and targeted by throwing chairs, according to the video released by the anti-racist association.
