Luxembourg to Metz and Canada to Bordeaux. This is the Blues’ program before heading to their Bad Lippspringe base camp for Euro 2024 in Germany (June 14-July 14), announced by the French Football Federation on Tuesday April 16.

Two meetings which will take place on Wednesday June 5 at the Saint-Symphorien stadium (9 p.m.) and Sunday June 9 at Matmut Atlantique (9:15 p.m.), only a few days after the Champions League final, in London on June 1, which could concern several frames of Didier Deschamps.

18 confrontations with Luxembourg, only one with Canada

The Blues know the Luxembourgers well, whom they have beaten 16 times in 18 meetings, for a draw and a defeat dating back to 1914. The last confrontation was however mixed for the French who conceded a draw (0-0) at the Stadium of Toulouse in 2017 in the World Cup qualifiers. The Canadians are much less frequent opponents, with only one meeting, during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, for a 1-0 victory for the Blues thanks to a goal from Jean-Pierre Papin.

Didier Deschamps’ men will then head to Germany, where they will begin their Euro on Monday June 17, against Austria in Düsseldorf. The Blues will then face the Netherlands in Leipzig, then Poland in Dortmund. The list for the competition, and therefore the two friendly matches which precede it, must be announced on May 16.
