After a preparation disrupted by many cases of Covid-19 and with several absent players, the Blues lost to the wire against Germany, 35-34, for their only preparation match for Euro 2022, Sunday January 9.
In front of four goals at the break (18-14), the French suffered more in defense, lacking rhythm after a chaotic preparation, and suffered the German strike force from a distance. Despite Vincent Gérard’s saves in the last ten minutes of the match, they finally lost a goal, on a shot from Luca Witzke at the last second.
End of Match: 35-34
