The Blues will launch their Olympics on Thursday July 25 against Colombia, with the announced objective of bringing home a medal in women’s football.
Final details before making their entrance. After missing the last Tokyo Games in the summer of 2021, Hervé Renard’s team faces Colombia for its first match of the competition, this Thursday, July 25, at 9 p.m. On the pitch at Groupama Stadium in Lyon, the objective is therefore to secure victory for captain Wendie Renard and her teammates.
They have only one goal: to qualify for the quarter-finals and have a chance of winning a medal at home. For the rest of the competition, they will have to face Canada, the reigning Olympic champion, on July 28 in Saint-Étienne. They will close their group stage against New Zealand, again in Lyon, on July 31.
