The Blue Jays victims of a game without a run or a hit

(Houston) Ronel Blanco of the Astros had a scoreless game against the Blue Jays on Monday, as Houston beat Toronto 10-0.


Blanco struck out seven batters and allowed two walks, throwing 105 shots.

Free passes were given to George Springer, in the first and last innings.

The 30-year-old Dominican was making his eighth start in major league baseball.

He didn’t have a complete game under his belt yet, and he hadn’t yet progressed beyond six innings in a start.

He completed his feat by retiring Vladimir Guerrero on a grounder to second base.

Kyle Tucker and catcher Yainer Diaz each hit two home runs.

Chas McCormick, Jeremy Pena and Jake Meyers also had two hits.

The Astros had lost their first four games of the season.

This is the 17the no-hit game in Astros history.

In the history of major league baseball, Joe Espada became the first manager for whom the first victory was via a no-hit game.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Bowden Francis gave up seven runs and 10 hits in five and a third innings.

Toronto is now 2-3.

Bo Bichette missed a second straight game due to neck problems.

Tuesday night’s starters will be Jose Berrios for the Blue Jays and Framber Valdez for the Astros.

Valdez had a no-hitter game on 1er August last year, when his team won 2-0 against the Cleveland Guardians.
