“The blow is hard to take,” testifies Wednesday April 24, on franceinfo Michel Rieux, CGT union representative of the Casino group. Between 1,300 and 3,200 jobs are threatened at the French distributor, which changed hands at the end of March.
THE “reorganization project” was presented on Wednesday. “We thought that we would have a presentation of an economic note or a guiding path. This was not the case, we will have to wait until May 6 and 7 to have a detailed presentation of the project and in particular the measures of accompaniment”, deplores the union representative. “Today, beyond the range which goes up to 3,267 job cuts, we have no other certainty from Casino.”
Michel Rieux denounces “the strategic and pricing errors of Casino which have brought these stores into abysmal abyss in terms of results.” “We approach the negotiations, as usual, with a knife between our teeth, saying to ourselves that we will absolutely have to save the jobs”he says.
