A match controlled from start to finish. Large 7-0 victory for the French Olympic team, Thursday July 11, on the stadium pitch Félix Mayol of Toulon. In their second warm-up match before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the French dominated the Dominican Republic, also qualified for the Olympic football tournament.

After an attacking start to the match by the French and a first shot on target by Enzo Millot in the 13th minute of play, the young VfB Stuttgart midfielder finally opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a first-time shot with the flat of his foot. Perfectly served by Adrien Truffert just before the half-hour mark, Alexandre Lacazette, captain of this French Olympic team, scored the second goal of the match.

Despite a slight warning at the end of the first half with an offside goal from Dominican Nowend Lorenzo, the French responded perfectly by rolling out in the second period. Thanks to a double from Lacazette (48th) and Michael Olise (50th and 56th), a goal from Maghnes Akliouche (80th) and a final goal from Rayan Cherki (90th), the Bleuets brought the final score to 7-0, chaining a second victory in their Olympic preparation.

“We are a little successful in terms of goals, Physically we are fine, we must continue as we are doing. We are happy, but it will not always be like this. A competition is also won through hard work” assessed coach Thierry Henry on the L’Equipe channel, before expressing satisfaction with the collective performance of his players and the absence of injuries as the Olympic deadline approaches.

Captain of this young French team and author of a double, Alexandre Lacazette also expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance. “I think we can be proud of the young French players. We played a good game, we didn’t concede a goal. There were no injuries, we scored a lot of goals, it was a good evening.” he expressed.

Before the start of their Olympic tournament on July 24 against the United States, the Bleuets will have a final preparation match against Japan on July 17 in Toulon.
