The Bills inflict a first defeat on the Dolphins

Ils ont gagné [le titre de section] how many years in a row now? »

“I would be lying if I said I was happy with anything from our team today. I believe the NFL is a league that forces you to stay humble. If you don’t do well playing against a team like this, that’s what happens. »

Stefon Diggs caught three passes for the major and finished the game with six receptions and 120 yards. Allen completed 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards, recording his fourth four-touchdown game.

The Dolphins advanced the ball well, totaling 393 yards, but the Bills forced two turnovers and had four sacks at the expense of Tua Tagovailoa.

The Bills never trailed, amassing 414 yards while scoring points on eight of their first nine possessions.

Bills starting cornerback Tre’Davious White was also carted away with an Achilles injury in the third quarter.

White was injured while trying to cover receiver Tyreek Hill near the sideline. He suddenly stopped running, grabbing his right leg before falling onto the field.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott became emotional when talking about the situation.

“I love him,” McDermott said. I mean, to see him on the field, the way he got hurt, it’s hard to watch. I know he will bounce back. »

White missed almost an entire season in 2021 due to surgery to treat a torn ligament in his right knee. He was invited to the Pro Bowl in 2019.

Hamlin returns

Damar Hamlin set his sights on returning to the game after suffering a cardiac arrest in January. He was able to say “mission accomplished” while on the field for the Dolphins’ kickoff.

The punt was not returned, but the moment was still important for Hamlin, who played in his first game of the season, nine months after being revived on the field.

Hamlin was also used on special teams after an 18-yard touchdown pass from Allen to receiver Gabe Davis.

Hamlin had been left out for the Bills’ first three games of the season. He was called in as reinforcement this week to compensate for the absence of starting safety Jordan Poyer alongside Micah Hyde.

Hamlin was the last player to take the field before the game. He ran the length of the field with his arms raised before removing his helmet in the end zone to receive cheers from the crowd.

Since getting the green light to return to practice, Hamlin has shown no signs of hesitation on the field. He had nine tackles in three preseason games.
